Editing and Deleting a Competency

This guide is intended for Employer Admins. And describes how to edit or delete awardable Employer Competencies. To suspend an individual's competency select the relevant competency tab on their record, and select Suspend/Restore a Competency.
To delete a competency:
  1. Log in to SkillGuard.
  2. From the Dashboard select the Administration tab.
  3. Select Employer Competencies.
  4. On the Competencies summary screen, use the search filters to locate the required competency, select it and click the Edit button.
  5. If the competency has already been awarded, a warning message will be displayed at the top of the form and only certain fields can be amended.
  6. Click Save when you have finished making the amendments.
  7. If a competency is to be deleted, highlight the competency on the Competencies summary screen and click Delete. Confirm the deletion when prompted.

Once a competency has been awarded to a recordholder, the definition cannot be deleted. It can be made inactive by adding an End Date, or by deselecting 'is Awardable', to prevent subsequent awards from being made.
Changes made to existing competency definitions will not be applied to existing awards until the next day.
