Recording Medical Results

Recording Medical Results

This guide is intended for Medical Provider users.

Only Medical Provider users have permission to record Medical test results.

A Medical Provider can be an external medical practice or an internal company function. Once a Medical Provider user account has been created for an administrator, a registration email will automatically be sent to the individual with instructions on how to activate the user account and set their password.

1. Log in to SkillGuard
2. From the Dashboard select Record Medical Result, complete all fields and click Search.
3. Highlight the recordholder's record and click the Select button.

The Medicals tab in the left-hand panel is selected by default, but the other tabs can be viewed, if required.
Historic Medical Certificates will be shown in this summary view, which can be viewed by highlighting the relevant one and clicking the View button.

4. Click the Record Medical Result link.

The Record Medical Result form will be populated. The recordholder’s details and name of the Medical Provider will already be populated and cannot be changed. The Examination Date will default to today’s date, but this can be changed if appropriate. Enter all the remaining relevant information into the appropriate fields, selecting the Test Type, Test Reason, Drug Test Result and Alcohol Test Result from the dropdown lists presented. Be sure to complete all the mandatory fields marked with a red asterisk (*).
You can also tick one or more of the checkboxes for any relevant Work Restrictions.
Notes of a non-clinical nature can also be added, if required.

5. Click Save when the form has been completed and confirm the result when prompted.
You will be returned to the Medicals tab of the worker’s record and the new Medical Certificate will be shown in the summary view.

If you also have a Drugs & Alcohol Test Result to record for the same recordholder, click on the D&A Screenings tab in the left-hand panel and click the Record D&A Result link. Next, follow the detailed instructions on how to Record a Drug and Alcohol Test Results.
