Mobile App for Access Controllers - Awarding Competencies

To Award Competencies as an Access Controller you will need to have the following:
  1. A record created in SkillGuard
  2. A valid subscription
  3. A Physical or Virtual SkillGuard Smart Card
  4. The correct status option set by your employer
  5. The SkillGuard 5 Mobile App
    1. iOS: SkillGuard 5 on the App Store (apple.com)
    2. Android: SkillGuard 5 - Apps on Google Play
Please contact your Employer Admin user if you do not have any of the above or are unsure.

To award a competency to a recordholder via the mobile app:
  1. Select Award Competencies on the main menu. The Access Controller may only award a competency that is permitted to be awarded via the app.
  2. Select the Category from the drop-down list and then the Competency.
  3. Evidence for the competency can be added individually or as a group by selecting Add Group Evidence.
  4. For some competencies, a description of the competency, such as a course description is added.
    1. This can be viewed by selecting View Competence Description.
    2. This description will appear as evidence automatically once the competency has been awarded.
  5. Swipe SkillGuard card using any of the methods described earlier.
  6. Select Award where no evidence is required.
  7. If evidence is required to support the competency and you have not already added group evidence, select Add Evidence to use the phone’s camera.
  8. Then select Add.
